Our Flagship Event – Ladies Top Shot Event
The annual GOSA Girls on Fire Top Shot Event is a highlight of our campaign, bringing together around 150 female participants, 50 female range officers, and numerous passionate volunteers. With a following of over 150,000 people, this event is an incredible opportunity to engage with women passionate about empowerment.
The event features nine different sporting disciplines across three classes:
- Amateur: For those who have never handled a firearm before.
- Semi-Amateur: For participants with some prior exposure.
- Pro: For experienced sport shooters.
Participants use firearms ranging from .22LR calibers to the powerful ‘50-cal’, which is a fan favorite.
Because of resource constraints, we can only hold this event once a year in Johannesburg. Registrations typically fill up within 24 hours, and we often have to place many women on a waiting list. Our dream is to grow this event to accommodate more participants and expand its reach across the country.
In the past, women from across South Africa have traveled to participate, with many also joining as volunteers and range officers. We’re now looking to expand this event further by inviting international participants, like Lena Miculek, who is the female name for firearms in the world.
