Gun Buddies – Gun Safety Education for Kids (Ages 3-18)
Empowering the Next Generation with Firearm Safety
Gun Buddies is an initiative dedicated to educating children and teens about firearm safety in a responsible, engaging, and age-appropriate manner. Through school talks, interactive lessons, and storytelling, we teach kids from
ages 3 to 18 how to respect firearms, understand their dangers, and follow essential safety rules to prevent accidents.
Gun Safety for Kids (Ages 3-10)
For our youngest learners, we introduce firearm safety through fun and engaging storytelling, featuring
Scrappy the Land-Rover and Friends. Created by
Lynette Oxley, this exciting book series takes children on adventures with Scrappy,
Mandla, and Kirsten, ending each story with a crucial gun safety lesson. By weaving safety messages into relatable and entertaining stories, we ensure young children develop an early understanding of firearm awareness in a non-threatening way.
Gun Safety Education for Teens (Ages 11-18)
As children grow, so do their responsibilities and awareness. Our
Gun Buddies for Teens program provides age-appropriate firearm education, covering:
- The Four Golden Rules of Gun Safety
- How to react if they encounter a firearm
- Understanding firearm laws and responsibilities
- The importance of secure firearm storage
- Basics of shooting sports and responsible ownership
Through interactive discussions, real-life scenarios, and hands-on training (when applicable), we empower teenagers with the knowledge they need to make informed and responsible decisions about firearms.
School Talks & Community Outreach
Gun Buddies, led by
Lynette Oxley, brings firearm safety education directly to schools and community groups. Our engaging presentations help children and teens develop a healthy respect for firearms while emphasizing safety, responsibility, and awareness.
