Girls on Fire – Transforming Victims to Victors

Empowering Women to Rise Above Victimhood
Girls on Fire
is about empowering women emotionally, mentally, and physically, providing them with the tools to rise above victimhood and take charge of their safety and well-being.

At its core, this initiative focuses on instilling situational awareness in women—the first line of defense—and teaching them legal ways to protect themselves, their children, and their families against crime.
Our mission is simple: to transform victims into victors.

Girls on Fire: Igniting Strength, Empowering Victories

Why Girls on Fire?

This is a campaign for women, run by women at every level.
Participants are welcomed into a supportive community led by strong, empowered role models who are daughters, sisters, mothers, and even grandmothers.

They embody the spirit of #EveryWoman.
Empowering women is essential to the health and social development of families, communities, and countries—especially in developing countries like South Africa.

When women feel safe and confident, they can fully participate in society, contribute to the workforce, and support healthier families and communities.

GOSA GIRLS ON FIRE (GOF)

GOF was created in 2015 to coincide with the United Nations 16 Days of Activism.
We ran a very successful “16 Days of ACTION for no Violence, against women and child abuse” that year and subsequent successful campaigns every year.

We have grown by leaps and bounds since the early years. On 14 October 2021 Girls on fire was incorporated as a non-profit company under the Companies Act and we are now recognized as a non-profit organisation through the Department of Social Works.
